I don't have a design wall big enough to show what I have been working on so I had to put it on the floor (again).
I can't decide what to do with the corners and side triangles. Should I make it scrappy? Should I use one fabric in all the places? A different fabric in each area? Or maybe just leave the carpet? :)
Help!
I want to do some applique in the corners and side triangles so the fabric won't be the focal point. I am leaning toward each piece being different and the corners being big four patches but...
help...
Since all of your whites in the blocks are scrappy, I think your scrappy plan for the background is fine. I really like what you have so far. :D
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! I vote for the scrappy background similar to the upper left corner. Applique in those areas would really look great!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love that! Is there a pattern for it?
ReplyDeleteI think I'd piece the corner sections out of light squares the same size as the ones in the center of the quilt.
I agree with Jane . You have a scrappy thing going on so I would continue on that for the background .You've done a great job on this quilt . Let us see it when its finished !!
ReplyDeleteI also like the idea of a scrappy background too.
ReplyDeleteYou know I always vote for scrappy! I love the four patch corners! Hugs...
ReplyDeleteI vote for scrappy too. Like the idea of some applique and the 4-patch in the very outer corners. Maybe some sort of viney-swag-looking thing.
ReplyDeleteMy initial thought was scrappy letting some beautiful quilting be the highlight, but if you are doing applique, I wonder if you want any seams behind the applique in the cornors? Just a thought to consider?
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt - would you be willing to share the pattern title and designer's name? As far as which design??? They all are beautiful ideas. I like the scrappy backgrounds and a viney applique (something not very large)unless you are going to have something fancy (like feathered wreath) you need something in the large white areas. JMHO
ReplyDeleteI like the scrappy star design. Looks like a big piece.
