I think that since the sashing and cornerstones are such a big part of the quilt, if you don't go with the blue as the outside border, it may detract from all that beautiful work.
You can never have too much blue! What if you made the inner border turquoise, rather than yellow, and the used your darker blue for the outer border, like a picture frame.
