Design wall Monday

is all about the design wall...and the mess it caused.
Right before I posted this picture I had decided the next project was to be put new design walls up. I was sick of the ever falling flannel backed plastic table cloth. It held stuff on it's terms.

But you know how it is, when you move one item you almost invariably have to move the whole room.

This is how the room looks now. I had just cleaned it! Ah Man!

I moved the book shelves from the corner into the hallway. The only people who will ever have to deal with this will be me and my daughter so it will be fine. It only took about 11" from the 38" hall.
I managed to get 4 pretty big stacks of books and magazines I feel comfortable getting shed of.
This is a huge pile of papers I can send to the recyclers.
I even had to resort the tall book shelf behind my sewing area. BTW don't ever mistake this as a true bookshelf . Most of the stuff on the shelves are light weight papers and binders. The books made the shelves warp in about 15 minutes.

So now that I have finished feeding all of the mouths in the family lunch I can resume my sewing room redo.
If everything goes as planned I will show you how I installed my design walls with no nails or screws.

Later,
Diane

You will enjoy the fresh space though :) I like a clean sewing room since I don't get to enjoy one for very long!

Oh how I need to do that! But so far my flannel back tablecloth is still holding so I'll put that project off for a while longer. :)
Love your Crabapple. I am putting the last borders on mine. Yeah us!

I love your quilt. The border is perfect for it. I hate the flannel backed table cloth I am using too and can't wait to see how you made your new design wall.

Love the Quilt! What is the pattern? Good luck on your sewing room re-do. It is always nice to get things organized-at least for awhile.:)

Now I know why I don't try to do anything but sew in the studio. That is exactly what happens when I decide to move things except I don't get it done as fast as you do. Looking good.

Your room looks terrific!!! What are you using for your design wall? I use the 4'x8' insulation that you can get at Home Depot/Lowe's. It has silver on it but I just tacked "good" flannel to it.

Isn't it wonderful to move things around! I finally put my design wall up too but now I wish I had made it bigger!
